Nepal Premier League- The festival of the Himalayas is hitting headlines as Marquee Players for all the franchises are announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on September 13.
CAN has announced that the Nepal Premier League will feature 8 teams in the inaugural season of NPL scheduled for November 30(Mangsir 15) to December 21(Paush 6).
Before we dive deep into the Marquee Players of NPL Here are the 8 Franchise of Nepal’s premier league
- Kathmandu
- Pokhara
- Lumbini
- Biratnagar
- Karnali
- Sudur Paschim
- Janakpur
- Chitwan
The teams are put into the auction table and are sold through budding. The highest bidding was for the Franchise Pokhara which was 3 crore 57 lakhs while the lowest price was for Karnali with an amount of just 1.11 Crores.
The domestic Players in the Nepal Premier League will be signed through the auction while International players will be signed through direct contact with the Franchise.
Marquee Players
Rohit Paudel
The Skipper of the Nepal men’s national cricket team Rohit Paudel became the Marquee Player for the Franchise Lumbini.

Sandeep Lamichhane
The Spinner Wizard of Nepal who has experience playing in the League Cricket worldwide is linked now with the Biratnagar for the Inaugural Nepal Premiere Cup.
Kushal Bhurtel
The aggressive opening batsman of Nepal Kushal Bhurtel joins Franchise Pokhara as the Marquee player.
Karan KC
The leading Fast Bowler of Nepal Karan KC joins Kathmandu as the Marquee Player. The Kathmandu franchise was sold to Kantipr Group at the price of 3.33 Crores.
Kushal Malla
The dangerous Middle-order batsman Kushal Malla is also included in the Marquee Players list and will be representing Chitwan in the Nepal Premier league.
Sompal Kami
The pace gun of Nepal Cricket, Sompal Kami is the only Nepali player to represent Nepal in the T20 World Cup twice in 2014 and 2024. Sompal Joins Karnali as the Marquee Player.
Dipendra Singh Airee
Dipendra Singh Airee who is counted among the finest All-Rounders of the World Cricket is also on the Marquee Players list and joins Sudur Paschim as the Marquee Player.
Aasif Sheikh
Aasif Sheikh is the reliable Opening batsman of Nepal Cricket and the opening batter joins Janakpur as the Marquee Players and will represent in the inaugural season of Nepal Premier League.
Other players will go through the auction table and will be signed accordingly.
