Blessing Muzarabani, a right-arm medium-fast bowler from Zimbabwe, picked up a 6-wicket against Afghanistan in the second test match’s second inning at Queen Sports Club.

Zimbabwe won the coinflip section of the game and elected to bowl first, putting visitors to bat first at Parkview, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The batting of the Afghanistan team under Hashmatullah Shahidi collapsed completely, and they were bowled out for just 157 runs in the 1st inning.

Blessing Muzarabani had picked up 2 wickets in the first inning while conceding only 56 runs in 12 overs with an economy of 4.67.

Newman Nyamhuri and Sikandar Raza picked up 3 wickets each in that game, while Richard Ngarava picked up 1 wicket.

Blessing Muzarabani stole the limelight with his six-wicket spell in the second inning.

Muzarbani strikes early in the second over, dismissing Abdul Malik for just a single run. Malik was caught by Newman Nyamhuri in the mid-on.

He strikes a second time in the 8th over, again dismissing another opening batter, Riaz Hassan, for just 11 runs. Hassan was caught behind by Joylord Gumbie, pushing Afghanistan in the backfoot early.

He was brought back again when Partnership started getting big in the scoreboards, and he did the work not once, not twice, but the third time for the side, dismissing Shahidullah for just 22 runs in the 48th overs.

Spin All-rounder Rashid Khan also got back to the pavilion for just 23 runs after the pacer struck for the 4th time in the 98th over.

However, Zimbabwe’s side was slowly getting pushed to the backfoot with the runs to the scoreboard from Rahmat Shah, and Raza brought back Blessing Muzarabani, and he didn’t upset the skipper.

Rahmat Shah had set the momentum by adding runs to the board, stabilizing the inning for Afghanistan, but got dismissed by the 28-year-old pacer Muzarabani. Zimbabwe got a huge relief, and he completed his five-wicket haul after the big man departed to the pavilion.

Zimbabwe was already trailing by more than 250 runs before the drinks break with Ismat and Yamin in the crease; however, Blessing Muzarabani again did the work for his side, dismissing Ismat Alam, who just completed his maiden century in the 107th over.

Muzarbani’s best bowling figure was 6/62 runs in a test inning. He had played only 8 test matches so far and already had picked up 25 wickets in the 12 innings he bowled.

Zimbabwe posted 243 runs after getting bowled out in 73.3 overs and had a lead of 86 runs after the first innings.

Afghanistan in the second inning didn’t have a solid start, losing 2 wickets early inside 8 overs for just 18 runs.

Rahmat Shah batted sensibly for the Afghanistan side, after trailing earlier, to get back into the lead; however, none of the batters in the middle order could make a big partnership with Shah. Shah was bowled out for just 19 runs in the first inning.

Shah completed his century this time, however, getting LBW dismissed in the 88th over by Blessing Muzarabani for 139 runs in 275 deliveries, including 14 boundaries.

Ismat Alam was sensibly moving the scoreboard, along with Yamin Ahmadzai, and played a beautiful inning of 101 runs for Afghanistan.

Ismat Alam was the 6th wicket of the Muzarbani just after completing his maiden test century.

Afghanistan was bowled out for 363 runs in the second inning and managed to get a lead of 277 runs, which is the target of Zimbabwe in the second inning.
