IPL 2025 is creating headlines as the IPL retention list 2024 is now finalized and all franchises now have their retained players and the remaining amount in the purse.
The last date for finalizing the IPL retention list 2024 was October 31, 2024, and now-released players and new players will undergo hammer on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to the Indian Premier League, a total amount of 585.5 crore is spent on retaining 46 players by 10 franchises.
Teams were given the purse value of 120 crores to build their 25-player squad with only 6 players allowed to retain (Right to Match/Retentions).
A total of 1574 players registered for the IPL 2025, out of which 1165 are Indian and 409 are Overseas players.

Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings made a great move by utilizing the uncapped player rule with MS Dhoni for just 4 crores. They spent 65 crores in retaining 5 players while saving 55 crores for the auction table at Jeddah.
