Around 40 schools received a bomb threat in Delhi on Monday morning, and the sender demanded $30,000, according to police officials.
Almost all the schools sent children back to their homes as a precautionary measure to ensure students’s safety; however, the local police, the Delhi police, and the official bomb detection and disposal team were enforced immediately.
According to The Hindu, nothing suspicious was detected by 9:30 in the morning.
The suspicious email was sent to 44 schools from this email: [email protected], which has been sent using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
India has also received similar bomb threat cases in the past in similar patterns using VPN technology.
(VPN is a technology that secures a connection between a device and a remote server over the Internet by protecting their data and privacy by hiding their IP address and creating a private tunnel between their device and the remote server).
