Rashid Latif’s bold statement expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts in addressing the Champions Trophy issue but admitted uncertainty about Pakistan’s position if India decides to boycott the tournament.
Latiff Said on Geo TV “It would be better that Pakistan refuse to play before India refuses to participate in the event.”
He added, “It is good for us that we are fighting our case pertaining to the Champions Trophy. But I am not sure where we will stand if India go for a boycott of the mega-event.
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif said on Sunday that now there was no need to hold the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
Rashid Latif also emphasized the importance of developing grassroots and club cricket, which can enhance the international standard, saying it is key to producing skilled players and future leaders.
He pointed out that investing in grassroots cricket is essential to discovering talents like Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad.
