If you are wondering who is Sam Konstas, the 19-year-old debutant to have messed with Virat Kohli in his debut game? This one is for you.

The 19-year-old Sam Konstas became the 4th youngest player to debut for Australia in a test at 19 years and 85 days.

Australia and India met again at the boxing test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground after the third match at Gabba was drawn.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in front of the 90,000 spectators at MCG as Sam Konstas got his test debut cap in the boxing day test match and faced the first ball off Jasprit Bumrah in his debut game.

The 19-year-old came out to bat with experienced Khawaja in his debut inning and faced the first ball off Jasprit Bumrah. Konstas struggled early in the first few overs of the game.

However, Konstas didn’t hold his nerve too long to play an innovative shot against Bumrah. He scooped the first ball of the 7th over for a boundary and the second for a maximum with a reverse scoop over the slips.

He again showed his confidence against the pace, smashing Bumrah for another boundary with a much more calculated reverse scoop.

Konstas got a shoulder bump with Virat Kohli after the end of the 10th over after Virat covered 1 pitch distance, and the scenario is created as Khawaja interrupts them.

However, Konstas replied calmly to that verbal exchange on the field with Kohli. He responded, ” It was just emotions from both of us, I didn’t quite realize, I was doing my gloves then a little shoulder charge, but it happens in cricket.

He also completed his half-century in just 52 deliveries, on 13.1 over smashing Siraj for 2 runs and MCG response in roar to the debutant half-century.

He became the second youngest Australian to score a test half-century in the debut inning. However, Konstas couldn’t convert his half-century into a big inning but managed to score 60 runs in 65 deliveries.

Spin Wizard of India, Ravindra Jadeja gets him in the 19.2 over, and the opening partnership got shattered at 89 runs.

According to ESPN Cricinfo Australia managed to get 311 runs to the boards in 86 overs, losing their 6 wickets while skipper Cummins and Steve Smith were on the crease.
