Nepal National Cricket Team lost to Canada on September 22 at Maple Leaf Cricket Ground registering their second loss against Canada and fifth back-to-back loss in the last 5 ODI Matches they played at ICC CWC League 2 cycle.
Nepal played 7 matches under the ICC CWC League-2 cycle of 2023-2027 registering only a single win against the Netherlands at their home cricket grounds at TU International Ground, Kritipur.
Nepal hosted Netherlands and Namibia in February for its first 4 matches of the League-2 on their home cricket ground however Nepal failed to take advantage of the home ground and their fans registered only a single win against Netherlands.
The Nepal National Cricket team is on a Canada tour playing with Canada and Oman at Maple Leaf Cricket Ground. Nepal played its 3 ODI matches on the tour and is yet to register their first win of the Canada series and second of the League-2 2023-27 cycle.
The team led by Rohit will play its remaining match against Oman on September 24 at Maple Leaf Cricket Ground and will look to register its first win of the Canada tour against Oman.

Nepal vs Canada
Nepal lost the first match against Canada by 103 runs after Nepal elected to bowl first winning the coin flip. Oman put 253 runs to the boards despite a slow start to the inning.
However, In the runchase Nepal national Cricket team failed to reach the target as they suffered a batting collapse managing only 150 runs to the board, and got defeated brutally by 103 runs for the first time in the ODI history against Canada.

Nepal played its second match against Oman, Nepal batted first this time posting 220 runs to the boards with skipper Rohit Paudel’s and Gulshan Jha’s sensation half-centuries.
Oman started brilliantly as they did 75 75-run partnership for the first wicket however Gulshan Jha bowled excellently and registered a five-wicket haul which assisted Nepal in making a comeback against Canada in the second innings.
Gulshan Jha became the youngest player to register a five-wicket haul and fifty runs in the same innings however Jha’s effort only resulted in him being Player of the Match despite being on the losing side as Canada managed to chase the target in the final overs and won the match by 1 wicket.

Nepal National Cricket team once made one of the best comebacks in ODI history by registering 11 wins out of the last 12 ODI matches to qualify for the 2023 World Cup Qualifier.
The same team is now suffering to manage a single win in the series. Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first this time however the batting collapse did not stop for Nepal as Nepal was 87/7 after 27 overs.
The lower-order batters of Nepal Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha showed excellent batting in the tough conditions and managed to put 181 runs to the boards and make something to defend themselves.
Oman in the runchase batted with comfort chasing the target in just 42 overs losing 5 wickets and winning the match by 5 wickets.
According to ICC Nepal is at No.7 in the points table with just 2 points in their name while Canada climbed up to the table at No. 1 in the points table with 7 wins in 11 matches while Oman is at No.6 with 5 points.
