Pakistan just sealed the ODI series win over Zimbabwe by 2-1 with back-to-back wins after losing the first ODI match against Zimbabwe by 80 runs via DLS methods.

Match Summary Pakistan vs Zimbabwe

Salman Ali Agha won the toss for Pakistan in the first T20I at Queens Sports Club and elected to bat first.

Pakistan opened the inning with Omair Yousuf and Saim Ayub. The opening partnership was broken at 18 runs by Richard Ngarava as Omair Yousuf returned into the pavilion for just 16 runs in 13 deliveries.

Another opening batter, Saim Ayub, also went into the hut early for just 24 runs.

Usman Khan added a crucial 40 runs in the middle over and got dismissed by Ryan Burl in the 13th over, while the skipper managed to add only 13 runs to the boards.

Tayyab Tahir’s fiery knock of 39 runs in just 25 deliveries and Irfan Khan Niazy’s quick 27 runs in just 15 deliveries at a strike rate of 180 boosted Pakistan’s run rate, and Pakistan reached 165 runs at the end of 20 overs while losing only 4 wickets.

Zimbabwe’s run chase started with Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani in the opening order. However, Pakistan scalped their first wicket, Brian Bennett, in just the third over.

Marumani played a constructive inning for Zimbabwe, adding vital 33 runs to the boards; but suffered an unfortunate runout by Tayyab Tahir.

Skipper Sikandar Raza played an inning of 39 runs in 29 deliveries; however, he did not receive support from the other end, as none of the batters other than Skipper himself and Marrumani reached double-digit scores for Zimbabwe.

As a result, Zimbabwe was bundled out for just 108 runs in 15.3 overs, and Pakistan won the first T20i match by 57 runs.

Tayyab Tahir was declared Player of the Match for his 39 runs in 25 deliveries.
