After dominating all three sessions of Day 1 with bat and ball, Australia almost outplayed India in the first session of Day 2 of the Adelaide Test match.

Nathan McSweeney and Labuschagne opened with the bat for the Aussie side.

India’s pace attack, Jasprit Bumrah, and Siraj, did their best to prevent runs from leaking on day 2; however, batting conditions seemed more favorable to the batters.

Bumrah finally dismissed McSweeney on the 37th over however, McSweeney set a strong foundation with Labuschagne.

Young Nitish Kumar Reddy again showed courage with the ball, dismissing the set man Labuschagne for 64 runs in 126 deliveries.

Bumrah relieved more pressure for the Indian side by dismissing Steve Smith for just 2 odd runs, but local boy Travis Head adapted well to his home conditions and smashed another century in a test match and showed his one-sided, dominating love for all 3 formats of the game against India.

Head smashed a century in just 111 deliveries. Siraj had the last laugh after a few chats and verbal exchanges between Travis Head and Mohammad Siraj.

India counterattacks the lower order of the Australian side, dismissing skipper Cummins, Boland, and Starc for just 27 runs however, destruction was done by Head, and the Kangaroos took the lead of 257 runs at the end of their first inning.

The Australian side again had the upper hand on the Indian side as the skipper himself removed KL Rahul for just 7 odd runs.

Jaiswal and Rahul again proved their skipper’s decision to promote KL Rahul in the top order by sacrificing his top-order positions.

Yashasvi Jaiswal also didn’t make a big impact this time too in Adelaide, as he returned to the pavilion for just 24 runs.

Gill and Kohli were expected to stabilize the innings of India after the early dismissal of their opening pair.

Indian batting seems like they were batting at a different pitch and condition as Starc dismissed Shubman Gill for the first time in a test on the 177th ball bowled.

Gill has smashed 162 runs in 177 deliveries with an average of 162 and a strike rate of 91.52 against Mitchell Starc in the test matches.

Starc rattled the stumps of Shubman Gill for the first time in a test match.

The responsibilities are again on the young shoulders of Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Pant showed some valiant effort in smashing a few stentorious shots while Reddy also batted with courage again in Adelaide.

Half of the Indian experienced side is already back in the pavilion, and India is still trailed by 29 runs of the stumps of Day 2.
