All about Earthquake Kathmandu valley at 01:02 PM

The Kathmandu Valley felt an earthquake on January 2 at 1:02 pm, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Center (NEMRC).

The earthquake was recorded to be of 4.8 Richter scale with Sindhupalchowk district as its epicenter.

In the past 30 days, Nepal has experienced more than 5 earthquakes of more than 1.5 Richter scale.

However, this is not the first time Kathmandu Valley felt a natural tremor, as the valley was hit by a destructive earthquake in 2015 (2072), which killed more than 8900 people, and around 21000 people were injured.

The 2015 April 25 Gorkha epicenter was the worst natural tremor that hit Kathmandu Valley after the 1934 India-Nepal earthquake.

Bajhang District was also hit by an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude on 18 December at 15:03 local time.
