Visitors won the coin flip and went with the bat; however, they put up a par total of 144 runs in 20 overs while only losing 6 wickets.
Karim Janat batted well in the middle overs and death overs for Afghanistan despite playing with a strike rate of 110.

Mohammad Nabi also batted well for Afghanistan to put something on the boards to defend however, the team was restricted to just 144 runs.
Richard Ngarava picked up 3 crucial wickets for Zimbabwe, while Blessing Muzarbani, Trevor Gwandu, and Wellington Masakadza picked up 1 wicket each, respectively.
Zimbabwe in the run chase started well, losing only 1 wicket in the power play overs. Opening batter Brian Bennet is the highest scorer for Zimbabwe with 49 runs in 49 deliveries.
Dion Myers’s 32 off 29 and Tashinga Musekiwa’s 16 runs off 13 deliveries in the death overs helped Zimbabwe chase 11 runs in the final over and take a lead of 1-0 in the 3-match T20i series.
Naveen-ul Haq picked up 2 wickets while skipper Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets for Afghanistan. Mohammad Nabi also picked up 1 wicket against Zimbabwe.
